Come see what the Driftless Region has to offer.
Northern Arizona transplants Pat and Jess Young and their family are honored to be your hosts during your stay at the "Big Farm In Iowa". It is our mission to provide our guests with a unique and relaxing experience here on the farm. Whether curling up inside reading a book by the fire, walking down the country roads, watching the cows, playing lawn games, or sitting on the porch enjoying the views, Little House on the Farm offers something for everyone.
Choose from two stand alone private renovated barns, each with an endearing history. Or reserve both for a wonderful large family or friend retreat. The Little House and the Guest Barn each sleep 6. Inside you will find relaxing living spaces with unique up-cycled farm items and interesting books and games. Sit outside and enjoy views from the porch. Both of our accommodations come equipped with a kitchenette containing everything you need to make your own meals during your stay if you desire. In addition, all linens, towels, and basic necessities are supplied. Everything you need for that morning cup of tea or coffee is also provided.
We want you to feel special by preparing a complimentary breakfast ~ brought right to your door. When possible, we use the best local foods that the driftless region has to offer. We are happy to accommodate any dietary needs.
Get a taste of living on a farm without the work. Each renovated barn will take you back in time with its rustic elegance. Slow down and enjoy the simplicity that our property has to offer. Take time to observe the many gifts of nature outside and also the bounty of creatively re-purposed items inside.
Little House on the Farm is located in the middle of several of NE Iowa's scenic byways. A beautiful 25 minute drive will take you to Decorah which offers a quaint downtown, wonderful restaurants, Luther College, waterfalls, hikes and rivers for boating or fishing. Several other country towns are nearby - spend a day visiting delicious dairy's, intriguing caves, maple farms, apple orchards, Effigy Mounds - so many things to see! Cross the Mississippi river to Wisconsin, or visit Minnesota, we are close to so many fun areas to explore. Photo is from one of our favorite hikes - Twin Springs. =]
